Clipsal 40 Series Mechanisms
Clipsal 40 Series mechanisms are the core switching components used across the Clipsal Iconic and Solis ranges of powerpoints and switches. Designed to clip into the grid system behind the cover plate, these mechanisms provide reliable switching and control for lighting, fans and other electrical circuits.
The 40 Series platform includes standard switches, intermediate switches, dimmers, data, TV and indicator mechanisms, along with other specialised control modules, allowing flexible configurations across residential and commercial installations. Smart control options are also available through the Clipsal Wiser range, enabling connected lighting and automation within compatible Iconic installations.
Clipsal also offers interchangeable pictogram caps and finishes, making it easy to label switch functions or customise the final look to suit the selected Iconic or Solis cover plate.
The Clipsal 41EPIRM-TN PIR motion sensor mechanism automatically switches lighting when movement is detected, helping improve convenience and energy efficiency in areas like hallways, bathrooms and laundries.

The Clipsal Iconic PIR motion sensor mechanism provides automatic lighting control with a 5 m detection range, 110° sensing angle, adjustable light sensitivity (10–200 lux) and time delay from 5 seconds to 30 minutes.
Clipsal 40 Series mechanisms are designed specifically for compatible Clipsal ranges such as Iconic and Solis, and are not interchangeable with mechanisms from other brands.
